Nicholas's life is shrouded by mystery. His house was built on stilts and the walls were covered with murals. The murals are of panoramic pictures of landscapes big enough to draw your eye. Inside there were paintings hanging on walls. Painting must have been his hobby. It was a rough looking house with different types of lights hanging from the ceiling and a bed in the middle of a largo room. Mr. Mac was a pleasant person, but the house and his appearance were eerie. He was married and had a wife and family in New York City.
According to family legend - Before Nicholas died he gave his daughter Annie a jar of gold coins. He told her, he would give her the location of other buried jars. He died August 17, 1969, before seeing Annie again. Is Nicholas treasure of gold coins buried in his beloved island.
